Supreme Commander has been high on my list of games I really want to play since it was announced. We played the game intensely for five days and did not have one crash, which is impressive for a game of this nature that's still not quite finished. The game still has some sound and graphics glitches and the voices in the FMV sequences are way out of whack with the lip movements, but these are minor issues that should be fixed by release. Supreme Commander appears close to completion, with a February launch planned. While I understand that is the nature of the game ( Supreme Commander on a global scale), it seems a shame that you won't get to appreciate the great unit design and intricate animations unless you take the time to zoom in on a regular basis. The only time I zoomed in was for precise placement of structures and weapons or for epic battles between experimental mega units. Settings will be the same as for skirmish mode.) One thing that I found is that, with the maps being so large, I ended up playing zoomed out to see the whole map almost all the time. (Multiplayer will be through GPGnet or by direct IP/LAN connection. All of the battles were intense, to say the least, and they were made even more frenetic because of the riveting and dramatic music of Jeremy Soule, who composed the score in Total Annihilation.
